UPDATE:聽Right on cue, Tom Clancy鈥檚 The Division 2: Warlords of New York was officially revealed yesterday evening. The all-new story expansion takes agents to Lower Manhattan, produced at a 1:1 scale, and embark on a campaign to take down rogue agent Aaron Keener.

Set eight months after the original The Division, Warlords of New York features the iconic city in the summertime, albeit having been ravaged by a hurricane which has caused flooded streets and washed entire ships up the city streets. Four key zones have been recreated, including聽Battery Park, Civic Centre, Two Bridges and the Financial District, all new to The Division series.

Warlords of New York ups The Division 2鈥檚 level cap from 30 to 40, as well as introducing an 鈥榠nfinite-progression system鈥?through which stats can be continually improved the more you play. New players can either start the game as normal in Washington DC, or take a level skip to 30 and begin in New York City. If you got for the latter, you鈥檒l be able to head back to DC once the Warlords campaign has been completed.

The game鈥檚 also following in the footsteps of Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited in offering universal enemy and mission level scaling based on the player level. This includes back in Washington DC, where world activities will scale all the way up to level 40. The thinking from Ubisoft is they鈥檙e absolutely expecting developer Massive to turn this one around, Destiny or Diablo 3-style, and ensure The Division 2 has legs for years to come.

In addition, there鈥檒l be new weapons, gear sets, exotic items and an overhaul of the gear and weapons systems. This includes UI improvements, helping to better identify the key attributes and advantages of any piece of equipment. Roll ranges will also be included, helping players to analyse whether or not it’s a good version of that particular piece of gear that they’ve picked up.

The Division 2: Warlords of New York will be out on March 3rd priced at $30 and will require the base game to play. Talking of which, there are some mighty deep discounts for The Division 2 right now, including prices as low as $2.99, so shop around and you may find yourself a bargain.

Original Story: 11-Feb-2020 -聽The Division 2 is heading back to the Big Apple with ‘Warlords of New York’

鈥楽tick to what works鈥?is probably an adage which will Ubisoft round for an eternity, such is the French publisher鈥檚 fetish for returning to familiar ground. Still, after Rainbow Six: Siege we鈥檇 forgive them almost anything. Case in point The Division 2鈥檚 leaked Year 2 DLC which, seemingly in a bid to rescue the co-op loot shooter from fading into obscurity, returns to the franchise鈥檚 roots – New York.

An official announcement is expected later today but, in the meantime, The Division 2 – Warlords of New York has well and truly leaked.

Warlords of New York appears to be a major expansion for The Division 2, hopping from Washington back to the iconic streets of the Big Apple. This time it looks as if the long winter may be over though, and Lower Manhattan has been taken over from a rogue Division Agent and his team of skilled lieutenants.

The Division 2 – Warlords of New York will feature a 鈥済ripping鈥?/span> new story revolving around what we鈥檇 assume is hunting down your original protagonist from the first game. The level cap is being bumped from 30 up to 40, while there鈥檒l be a level 30 boost thrown into the mix for those who want to get straight into the action. It鈥檒l feature an open-world new, an enhanced end game with three-month seasons, a revamped progression system, additional exotics, gears and skills.

We’re expecting a full reveal of this expansion, including a full trailer, later today, so we’ll update you just as soon as that appears.
